DECODING THE LATIN MASS SUCCESSFUL EVENT! More than 35 people learned the deep history and significance of the Latin Mass from Mr. Thomas Gilmour, Master of Ceremonies at St. Anthony's Oratory of Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest in West Orange. They then gathered outside on a lovely summer Saturday afternoon for a lively question and answer session. Mr. Gilmour suggested the following resources for continued learning:
*Do a search on YouTube for an hour long video of a 1940s era Mass narrated by Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Archbishop Sheen also wrote "The Seven Last Words," correlating Christ's last words on the Cross to the prayers of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Also search for F.S.S.P. Latin Mass training videos to follow every step of the Mass that you can - and cannot - see from the pews.
*A Web site by the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius in Chicago: http://www.sanctamissa.org/en/
*"Treasure and Tradition: The Ultimate Guide to the Latin Mass" by Lisa Bergman http://staugustineacademypress.com/our-catalog/catechesis-training/?sort=featured&page=2

***PLEASE SEND FR. GORMAN A THANK YOU MESSAGE & DONATION: Would you all please join me in writing a brief note of thanks to Rev. Robert G. Gorman for generously allowing use of Shrine Chapel for the Decoding the Latin Mass seminar, especially if you attended? Also, the historic Shrine Chapel needs to repair the roof before winter weather sets in. So please be sure to also send a donation in any amount made payable to Shrine Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, 52 West Somerset Street, Raritan, NJ 08869.  Please be sure to put Decoding the Latin Mass in the memo, and if you would email me with the amount you sent, I can report back how much our mailing list group raised (no names, just total dollar amount reported to me). Please consider this: if everyone who receives this email each sends just $50 now, and repeats that donation just four more times (weekly or monthly), our Latin Mass Society can potentially pay for the entire project by Christmas!
